Eaten by the Lord

So here we are – after a sermon on the Lord’s Supper – at the Lord’s Supper.  What should our application be?  Think of it this way.  The Word has been prepared like a chef preparing a dinner.  What do you do now?  You eat it.  We come having heard the Word and now we partake.

But another way to look at it is like this.  The Word prepared you for you are the meal.  The sermon opened you up, cut you open for the examination by the Spirit.  You are now prepared and Someone is about to consume you – consume us I should say.

“Romans 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

You should say, “it is good to partake of the Lord,” even as He says, “it is good to partake of you.”  Come and welcome to Jesus Christ.
