In the story of the Prodigal
son, when he returns, the Father says, “Luke 13:22 “But the father
said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and
put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring
the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24
for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And
they began to be merry."
While this Table is the Table
of the Lord and our attention is first focused upon Him, He would have you look
around at the body of Christ, His body, these brothers and sisters. This Table is in honor of them. For they were once dead and are now
alive. They were once lost and now are
found. Jesus would have you come to this
Table to honor them – your brothers and sisters in Jesus – for that is what He
is doing. And He would have you be
merry.
